Now, four months later, it looks like that change will finally be happening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hoyoverse officially dropped the information that Zachary Gordon will be Tighnari\u2019s new voice in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hoyolab.com\/article\/17590298\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">3.6 Patch Notes<\/a> for Genshin Impact. Gordon is best known for his role as Greg in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies, but he\u2019s also voiced characters in Kingdom Hearts 3. Data miners have found his voice lines for <a href=\"https:\/\/twinfinite.net\/2022\/08\/the-best-build-for-tighnari-in-genshin-impact\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tighnari<\/a>, and it seems like Hoyoverse is going in a new direction with the character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Tighnari?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Tighnari<\/a> new EN VA &#8211; Zachary Gordon<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/%E5%8E%9F%E7%A5%9E?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#\u539f\u795e<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Genshin?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Genshin<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/DbuPKy65pW\">pic.twitter.com\/DbuPKy65pW<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Genshin Mains_Your Guide to Teyvat (@genshinmains_) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/genshinmains_\/status\/1645285640697946113?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 10, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As a character, Tighnari is a bit cocky, and rightfully so as he\u2019s smart <em>and <\/em>strong in the <a href=\"https:\/\/twinfinite.net\/2022\/09\/genshin-impact-chronic-illness-quest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">storyline<\/a>. He\u2019s thought to be around the same age as Albedo or other adults like Cyno; his past voice mimicked that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, Hoyoverse seems to have pivoted and decided to go for a different voice type altogether. The voice lines from data miners make him sound less confident and much younger, which doesn\u2019t fit his character very much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ultimately, it doesn\u2019t seem to suit Tighnari\u2019s character as he currently is. While Hoyoverse was in the right for changing his voice actor, it feels like Tighnari\u2019s entire character is being changed at the same time. Prior to this, everyone thought the new voice actor would simply be mimicking the previous VAs lines to sound as similar as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, this wouldn\u2019t be fair to the new voice actor. It doesn\u2019t give Gordon much freedom to showcase his own unique voice and bring his personality to Tighnari, which Hoyoverse is asking him to do.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether you like Tighnari\u2019s new sound or not, this was the best decision Hoyoverse had.
