Warzone Season 5 dropped on August 2, tweaking large aspects of the battle royale and its modes. Naturally, it also shifted the weapon meta considerably, meaning there’s new guns to be taking into combat. Here’s the ultimate Warzone weapon tier list and best guns for Season 5.
Among the Season 5 patch notes were a plethora of weapon adjustments, a lot of which only applied to Warzone. Some fan favorite weapons, like the Cronen Squall and Lachmann Sub, were nerfed pretty heavily as the devs look to curb their power. Others, like the MX9, BAS-P and RAAL LMG, received improvements to their damage multipliers and should now kill a lot faster.
We’re taking all the changes into account in our Warzone weapon tier list, ranking guns based on their performance and viability. After our list, we’ll go in-depth on what we think are the three best weapons in Warzone at the moment.
Warzone Season 5 Weapon Tier List
The M13B stays in S-Tier after a nerf ensured its falling popularity was nipped in the bud. The VEL 46 joins it as improvements to damage make it even more lethal up close. For now, we’re keeping the MX9 and Minibak in B-Tier, but both were improved with S5 so could yet move up the rankings.
We’ve also bumped the Signal 50 up to S-Tier, with the devs admitting they’re keeping tabs on it amid a drastic increase in its popularity. The Kastov 762 joins it, with pure damage output pushing it among the best ARs in the game.
Finally, there’s a drop to A-Tier for the Cronen Squall after its entire damage profile was reduced. We don’t expect it to be nearly as powerful as it was pre-Season 5, with a much slower TTK.

Best Weapons in Warzone Season 5
Now the tier list has been detailed in full, we’re taking you through our three favorite guns in the entire BR. Again, these are subjective (and so are the attachment choices). Regardless, we’re sure there’ll be one up your street.
Kastov 762
The Kastov 762 was once our favorite AR in all of Warzone, a status it conceded as nerfs reduced its damage multipliers. However, it’s bounced back in a massive way, with its only current weaknesses being recoil. If you can master that and hit your shots, it’ll reward you and drop enemies in unmatched fashion:
- Barrel: KAS-10 584mm Barrel
- Stock: Kastov-Rama
- Optic: VLK 4.0 Optic
- Underbarrel: Schlager Tango
- Magazine: 40-Round Mag
HCR-56
If you prefer a slower playstyle, the HCR-56 is probably the best LMG in Warzone right now. It’s almost a bulkier AR, faster than most LMGs but still able to compete at medium and long ranges. If you’re set up and rocking the attachments below, your enemies won’t stand a chance:

- Underbarrel: Edge-47 Grip

VEL 46
Now probably the best SMG in Warzone, the VEL 46 (or MP7 of old) is a true juggernaut up close, dropping enemies in a way no other SMG can do. While it does struggle at longer-ranges, the right attachments put it in a league of its own where SMGs thrive:
