Like all the other keys in DMZ’s Vondel Exclusion Zone, Season 4 Reloaded tweaked the key chain and therefore the way to get hold of most keys. The Restaurant Briefcase Key was no exception: here’s how to get and use it.
Getting the Restaurant Briefcase Key in DMZ
There are two ways to get hold of the Restaurant Briefcase Key in DMZ Season 4 Reloaded. One is better than the other but don’t worry, we’ve detailed each below. Unfortunately, you cannot earn this key by completing a Faction mission.
Looting
First the worst, as the rhyme goes. You can find it by looting across Vondel. Unfortunately, this forces you to rely on RNG and the chances of pulling the key you want are not particularly high. There is a chance though (it’s usually the hope that kills).
Townhouse Apartment
Where it was previously found in the Vondel Zoo Animal Care Room, it’s now located on the table in the Townhouse Apartment. This is located in the Fire Department POI, in map grid C6. The image shows you it’s location on Vondel and then what it looks like in-game.
Be warned that a lot of AI patrol the area around the Fire Department, so you can often find yourself coming under heavy fire as you try to access the front door. Once inside, there’s a table in the corner alongside a few weapons and an orange crate.
Sitting on the table is the Restaurant Briefcase Key and an Origami Horse. Stick both in your backpack and extract.
Where To Use Restaurant Briefcase Key
In news that won’t shock you, the key opens a restaurant briefcase that’s located at the northern end of the Exhibit building, just east of Museum in Vondel. It’s in map grid I6.
The image on the left shows the Exhibit’s location near Museum, while the image on the right shows you precisely where to go within the POI itself.
Specifically, players need to work their way up staircases until they reach a large outdoor area, typically populated by three or four AI.
Eliminate these enemies and ascend in the outdoor area until you reach the top balcony. At the center of this balcony is a small opening that lets you drop down into the restaurant within the Exhibit. Find the small, silver metallic briefcase on one of the restaurant’s table and open it using the key.
Inside there’s $8,000 and the Smuggler’s Drop Key, alongside some other loot. The image above is from before S4R, hence why it shows a different key.
